Letter from your Pastors

As the calendar year of 2025 draws to a close, we pause to reflect on the remarkable journey we have shared and the faithfulness and remarkable generosity that define you as a church.

This year presented its own challenges yet in every circumstance and challenge your resilience and passion shone through. Together, we not only navigated challenges but actively served, extending practical help and hope to both friends and strangers in our city and made much of Jesus week in and week out.

We have so many powerful moments to celebrate from 2025:

Church, your passion for your faith and our collective mission has been evident all year.. Through your dedication, we have been able to host vibrant worship, welcome guests with radical hospitality, provide essential community to all ages, and firmly elevate God's Word.

We remain deeply moved by your generosity. Your sacrificial giving has not merely sustained our day-to-day operations but has crucially fueled our ability to carry out powerful ministry and take action on building the future.

As your pastors, we are humbled and inspired by your example. Your commitment to prayer, acts of kindness, and financial generosity are foundational to the flourishing of this church. You are world class in every way.

As we move toward Christmas and look ahead to 2026, we are anchored by the word of the Apostle Paul:

“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.”

Our prayer is that you remain deeply rooted and consistently built up in Christ, allowing your life to be an overflowing demonstration of gratitude. You truly are counted among our greatest blessings. Thank you for your partnership, support, friendship, kindness and commitment to God’s work here in Halifax through Nova Church.

As you read this year end IMPACT REPORT we hope your hearts are filled with gratitude and amazement at what God has done through you and also filled with faith for the year to come.

Thankful and full of faith,

Pastors Nancy and Mike

HOSPITALITY

Hospitality is a value of our church and whether it's the first-time guest or one of our Nova family members, we want our time spent together to be both welcoming and connecting.

When first-time guests see that we anticipated their visit with a gift for them it speaks to their value, our welcoming spirit and that we were expecting them.

Our café has a sign above it that says the coffee is always free. We believe that when someone stops and grabs a cup of coffee, what they're communicating is that they are open to conversations and connection instead of just rushing off. We've seen God do so much in our lobby in building connections that grow people's faith.

As God continues to build a culture of generosity in our church and community, let's allow our imaginations to dream and our prayers and giving sow into what God wants to accomplish in and through us in 2026.
